Depart from Jaipur by 5:00–6:00 AM to arrive at Khatu Shyam Ji in time for the morning aarti (Mangla Aarti at 5:30 AM). Early visits also mean shorter queues and a more peaceful darshan experience.
October to March is ideal -the weather is cool and pleasant. Avoid peak days like Ekadashi, Dwadashi, and major Hindu festivals when roads and temples are extremely crowded. Weekday visits are far more serene.
Carry valid ID proof, comfortable footwear (temple premises require removing footwear), a refillable water bottle, light snacks for the road, and a small bag for prasad offerings. Dress modestly in traditional or comfortable attire.
Located in Sikar district, approximately 80 km from Jaipur, Khatu Shyam Ji is the sacred shrine of Barbarika -revered as Shyam Baba, a divine form of Lord Krishna. The marble temple draws lakhs of devotees every month, especially on Ekadashi and during the grand Phalguna Mela held in February–March. Pilgrims believe that Shyam Baba fulfils the wishes of every true devotee who visits with faith and devotion.
Situated in Churu district, about 170 km from Jaipur, Salasar Balaji is one of the most revered Hanuman temples in India. The idol here is unique -it depicts Lord Hanuman with a beard and moustache, unlike most other shrines. Devotees from across Rajasthan, Haryana, and Punjab throng the temple every Tuesday and Saturday, and on the auspicious days of Chaitra and Ashwin Purnima, the temple receives hundreds of thousands of pilgrims.
